Working with an agency is to your advantage as we provide full support and guidance throughout the entire process. All aspects of the surrogacy journey are handled by our team, from matching, to screening, to legal, and social work support. We handle any issues that may arise. If there is a dispute or issue that comes up, this can be uncomfortable when not working with an agency who can handle it for you. You are also guaranteed that your full fee will be paid as laid out in your contract, in addition to all of your expenses when working with Eggceptional.

What are the requirements to become a gestational surrogate?

Working with Eggceptional Fertility s an honorable and rewarding experience. We’re dedicated to your care and ensuring this is a positive experience that you will look back on with great pride and satisfaction. Surrogate requirements center around making sure that you are physically healthy and mentally in the right place to become a surrogate. 

Surrogate candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Must have delivered at least 1 child of your own with no serious complications
• Are between the ages of 21-41 years of age
• Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of no higher than 33
• Have the support of family, friends, and your partner (if applicable)
• Do not use illegal drugs, smoke cigarettes, or abuse alcohol
• Do not participate government aid programs such as cash assistance, welfare, public housing or section 8. All other forms of government assistance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Women with IUDs, contraceptive implants, or who have had the Depo Provera shot are welcome to apply but must be willing to have their IUDs or contraceptive implants removed before a transfer.
• Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident
• Must live in a surrogacy legal state (we are very sorry but we cannot accept gestational carriers who reside in Nebraska, Louisiana, Michigan or New York)

Can I choose whom I help?

Yes. We have all kinds of families who are looking for surrogate mothers, including married couples, single parents, same-sex couples, domestic and foreign couples, and single people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. We have parents who are hoping to add to their families and others who are having a child for the first time.

Typically, our surrogates and intended parents will meet each other via a video conference call before moving forward with a match. We encourage both parties to get to know each other and to make sure you feel good about the other party. Occasionally, intended parents will fly out for an initial meeting. More often you will meet them in person for the first time at the screening or transfer stage.

How much are surrogates compensated?

The spiritual and emotional rewards of providing intended parents with the gift of life are priceless. You also deserve compensation as thanks for your physical and emotional commitment. This compensation can change your family’s future by helping you achieve your financial goals, like saving for a down payment on a house or putting away money for your children’s education.

We offer a generous compensation package where most Eggceptional Fertility surrogates can make between $60,000 and $80,000. Surrogacy compensation depends on many different factors, including location, experience, and the specifics of your surrogate pregnancy. Each surrogacy journey is unique, and compensation is always determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition, all of our surrogates are reimbursed for travel, missed work, etc. You will never have to pay any out-of-pocket costs to be a surrogate. We are happy to provide additional details about compensation during your consultation and interview.
