What is Egg Donation?

Egg donation is a process in which the eggs of a young, healthy woman (donor) are combined with sperm in the laboratory via in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The resulting embryos are transferred to the uterus of the recipient. Egg donation is a viable option for women who may be at risk of passing on a genetic condition or who face ovary function or egg production issues.

Who Needs Donor Eggs?

Egg donation is an effective treatment for couples facing infertility and offers the highest success rates for pregnancy of all treatment options. Women may need donor egg for several reasons:

Women who were born with abnormal ovaries and produce no eggs. Many of these patients have a normal uterus and can become pregnant with donor eggs fertilized in vitro. Women who stop producing eggs earlier than normal, a condition known as premature ovarian failure. The cause is usually unknown. In some women, premature ovarian failure is caused by autoimmune disease, surgery or exposure to radiation or chemotherapy. If a woman’s uterus is normal, she can conceive with donor eggs. Women who carry a genetic abnormality in their chromosomes and want to avoid passing it to their children.

• Our concern is not because of appearance, but about egg donor safety and health, including reproductive health.

Medical History

• Must be able to provide detailed medical history for three generations of your family.

Pap Smear

• Normal pap smear within the last three years is required before completing the donor screening appointment.
  
  

How does egg donor screening work?

Women who wish to participate in Aspire’s donor egg program must apply as anonymous donors and must undergo an extensive medical, genetic and psychological screening process using standards established by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine ASRM.

How much do egg donors make?

You can earn up to $6,500 for your time and energy spent while undergoing treatment at the end of your cycle.
