Frequently Asked Question for Egg Donors at CFI

What does the initial screening process look like?

Once you have completed your full application it will then be reviewed by our Donor Egg Program director. If your application meets healthy standards then we will send you a Welcome Email. This email will provide you with a lab order for fertility testing (AMH), a description of our screening and clearance process, and the opportunity to connect with our Egg Donor team on a quick 10-15 minute phone call.

Will I get a copy of my lab tests?

Yes! We are always happy to share a copy of your AMH testing (egg reserve test) and your genetic carrier screening (autosomal recessive disorder testing). We recommend keeping this in your personal medical file and also share the results with your OB/ GYN or PCP.

Who receives my eggs?

Families or individuals seek the help of an egg donor to build their family for many different reasons. An egg donor may be needed due the age of the female attempting to conceive, poor egg quality, premature menopause, or history of chemotherapy/ radiation treatment. Men, single or partnered, choose to use an egg donor to create embryos that will be carried by a gestational carrier. At CFI we support family building in many different ways!

Do I need to give myself injections?

Yes, but no stress- we will train you on how to do this and we will be here to support you every step of the way. During the stimulation (egg growing) period of your egg donation cycle, you will need to do 1-2 nightly injections for about 10-12 nights. You will have a 1:1 medication teaching visit with one of our highly trained fertility nurses.
