Frequently Asked Question for Egg Donors at Utah Fertility Center

How much is compensation for each egg donation cycle?

Our donors are compensated $5,000 at the time of their egg retrieval.

Does donating my eggs affect my fertility?

Inside your ovaries there are follicles, inside those follicles there is fluid filled with eggs. Typically, only 1 egg reaches maturity each month, we start donors on medications to make multiple of those eggs reach maturity, then at the egg retrieval procedure we go in and we drain the fluid with the eggs. We are basically retrieving what your body would naturally be disposing of. We are a fertility clinic, and don’t want to compromise your own fertility in the process.

Do I need to remove my IUD or Nexplanon to be able to donate?

No, you will not need to change your current birth control method for egg donation.

What information does the clinic need from me regarding my family history when applying?

You will need to know the health history of your biological family (full & half) first, second and third degree-relatives.

Please include the following details, whenever possible:
All full/half maternal and paternal family members (parents, siblings, nieces/nephews, aunts/uncles, cousins, grandparents)
Family members' current ages (or their ages at time of death)
Any known genetic carrier status
Current or past health problems/medical conditions
Ages at time of diagnoses
Treatments (e.g., medication, surgery)
 Current health status

What health information does the clinic need about me when applying?

We will need as much detail as possible about your health history including, but not limited to:

Diagnosed medical and mental health conditions

Medications you are currently taking, including dosage and frequency

Surgeries you have had, including cosmetic surgeries and year they were performed

What type of pictures are required to submit?

We ask that you add 4 or more childhood photos and 6 or more adult-age photos.

Childhood photos are from newborn to the age of 10. If there are multiple people in the photo, please identify yourself. We will blur the others out of the photo.

Please have your photos be non-pixelated and use good lighting. We will not accept photos taken with a filter or AI enhanced.  Mirrored photos are discouraged.

The photos you submit make a large impact on being selected by a family as their donor.

Am I going to be on medications for an egg donation cycle?

Yes, you will be on medications to stimulate your eggs to grow during the cycle. Medications are taken as injections in your abdomen with a very small needle.

We will educate on what these medications do and when you will take them. These are hormones that are already produced in your body so you will not be introducing any hormones that your body is not already exposed to.

Are there any upfront cost from me to becoming a donor?

All testing, appointments and medications related to screening and your egg donation cycle are covered by the clinic. If you receive a bill, please contact us ASAP. These are NOT your responsibility.

It is your responsibility though to keep your appointments and take care of the medications we give you appropriately.

How long is a donation cycle?

If you get approved and matched for a cycle, there are going to be between 8-12 mandatory monitoring appointments in a span of 2 weeks. Most of the appointments are done in the morning between 8am and 11:45am.

We have locations in Pleasant Grove, Ogden, Midvale, St. George, UT and Idaho Falls, ID that you can be seen in. The actual procedure is done in our Pleasant Grove office.

I have a friend that is also interested in donating. Do you have a referral program?

Yes!! If you refer someone to our program and they complete an egg donation you will receive a $200 bonus.
